PASSERIFORMES: Meliphagidae
Grantiella picta
We were returning to Melbourne late on Sunday from a weekend in the Mallee of north-western Victoria and deviated slightly to make a quick visit to the Mount Korong Scenic Reserve.
With the sun approaching the horizon, we were lucky enough to see this Painted Honeyeater perched for half a minute at the top of a large dead tree catching a few of the day's final rays before moving on.
